Impress Strengthens Capital Project Management and SOA Capabilities with Latest

October 23, 2006

Waltham, MA -  Impress Software, a leading provider of packaged integration applications, today announced the availability of Impress for EPM 3.1, the newest release of its flagship solution which includes features to improve capital project management, performance, usability and support for service oriented architectures (SOA).

Impress for EPM integrates SAP with Microsoft Project and Primavera, eliminating costly and time-consuming custom coding while ensuring that project stakeholders using either system are on the same page with accurate and up-to-date information. Version 3.1 provides customers with additional out-of-the-box business processes to help streamline implementations and further reduce an integration's total cost of ownership (TCO).

"Impress Software's heritage of more than a decade of experience in application integration gives global companies comfort that they are relying on a proven solution to handle business-critical tasks," said Warren Utt, CEO of Impress Software. "Impress for EPM 3.1 demonstrates our commitment to continually enhancing the product by adding new business processes, keeping pace with standards, working hand-in-hand with partners and constantly improving performance and usability."

New features released with Impress for EPM 3.1 include:

  • Capital Project Improvements: Customers that use Impress for EPM to better manage capital projects will benefit from new capabilities such as the ability to transfer important budget and cost details to the project management system, aggregate details in the project management system to the level required by SAP project accounting policies, and improved support for project milestones.
  • Performance and Usability Improvements: New performance capabilities synchronize only changed data, significantly reducing the synchronization duration of large projects. In addition, new features have been added to simplify the administration of a large number of projects and project teams. For example, "at-a-glance" status indicators provide a quick overview of all project synchronizations, workspace groups improve control over user access and improved error handling and reporting provides more meaningful, actionable information.
  • Enhanced Service Oriented Architecture and Partner Support: Impress continues to embrace standards to ensure its solutions fit into enterprise architectures by introducing enhanced support for SOA. Impress for EPM 3.1 provides out-of-the-box Web services for common Impress business processes that can be consumed by composite applications, and the ability to convert any Impress process into a Web service. Impress for EPM 3.1 also supports the latest releases from Microsoft, SAP and Primavera. For example, with this release, Impress has included support for Primavera 5.0 SP3 and SAP ECC 6.0 and improved support for the NetWeaver application server.
