Impress Software Releases Impress for EPM 3.0

May 10, 2006

Waltham, Ma. - Impress Software, a leading provider of packaged integration applications, today announced the availability of Impress for EPM 3.0, the newest release of its flagship integration application that includes numerous performance and scalability enhancements. With this new release, organizations can more effectively deploy the integration application for bridging SAP with project management systems on an enterprise-wide basis.

"Since its introduction in 2002, Impress for EPM has been successfully implemented by leading companies around the globe to streamline Plant Turnarounds, Routine Maintenance, Capital Projects and IT Projects." said Warren Utt, CEO of Impress Software. "An increasing number of these companies want to deploy our solution across their entire enterprise, and the 3.0 release introduces powerful new capabilities to support these strategic initiatives."

Impress for EPM (formally known as Project i.App) integrates SAP with project management systems, including Microsoft Project and Primavera, eliminating costly and time-consuming custom coding. As a result, project managers can plan, schedule and execute enterprise projects, taking into account critical SAP-defined data such as resource and material availability without timely and error-prone manual data entry. Controllers using SAP and project managers using MS Project or Primavera can remain with their tool of choice and rest assured that they are relying on "a single version of the truth" to keep a project on time and on budget.

New features released with Impress for EPM 3.0 include:

  • Improved Performance and Scalability: Enhancements include queue-based load balancing for both real-time and batch processing, and memory optimization, which improves performance of large scale projects.
  • Support for Additional Databases: Impress for EPM 3.0 offers support for two additional databases: MS SQL Server 2000 as well as MaxDB 7.5. Customers can now choose between Oracle, MS SQL Server 2000 or MaxDB7.5.
  • Usability enhancements: Includes the new process modeler, which gives administrators a better graphical view of a project, making workflow manipulation and project management easier tasks.

Impress for EPM is available immediately through Impress Software at www.impress.com.
