Stefan Frank, Impress, accepts award from Mike
Angiulo,
Microsoft |
Seattle, WA at the
annual global congress of PMI – the Project
Management Institute. Microsoft hosted
the event and utilized the opportunity to offer a
sneak peek
into their new 2007 release of Microsoft Office
Project which is scheduled to be available in
upcoming months. Throughout the year Impress has
collaborated intensely with Microsoft to prepare for
this launch. As a result, Impress is geared up to
launch the Impress for EPM solution in conjunction
with Microsoft’s 2007 release. This close
collaboration not only helped Impress and our
customers prepare for the truly exciting new features
but it also enabled Microsoft to gain significant real
world insight into their beta releases. The Impress
solution is arguably among the most demanding uses
of the Microsoft API in terms of data volume and
reliability. At the PMI event, Microsoft acknowledged
our help with 2007 when Mike Angiulo, the general
manager of the Microsoft Project Business Division,
handed us a First to Market Partner award.

Tips and Tricks
|
|
Improving Synch Time
After restarting an Impress server, it can take some
time to synchronize the data for the first time, due
to the fact that all libraries have to be loaded and
the source code must be translated. However, the
compiled code is only cached, not stored in the db!
Therefore, to get the fully compiled code in the
database, use the development workbench and
select “compile all”. This will compile all source code
AND save them to the database so that the next
time you restart the engine, your code will be
translated already.

How To Refresh A Connection
To refresh a connection, use the Engine Admin Tool.
Choose Connectivity / Connectors
The default connection is
impCoMspGenericBEConnector. Use the drop down
menu to choose the connection you want to refresh.
Click Edit at the bottom of the screen and then click
Save without actually making any edits. This will
refresh the connection.
